Mike Clayton & Family

Hello Everybody,
Welcome to my October and November Newsletter.

Help For Heroes Fete.
I had a really enjoyable afternoon on Saturday 15th August at Yapton Village Green whilst attending the Help For Heroes Fete. It was most pleasing that the event attracted a large and very generous crowd and even more pleasing that the event raised over £5000 for this very worthwhile charity. Mike Clayton and his organising team should be very pleased with their excellent efforts. We will be adding many photographs of the event on the website gallery in December. Meantime I was pleased to meet many old friends and had a real trip down memory lane when meeting for the first time since 1987 Terry Isted who was working as one of the sound engineers on the film that I appeared in ‘Fern The Red Deer’. Terry has also sent me some ‘off-set’ photographs that he took during ‘rest’ breaks from the filming. Again we will be putting them up on the website in December plus my memories of making the film.

‘Telstar’ the Movie is now available on DVD and includes a ‘making of’ documentary plus other material. ‘The Great Escape’ recently transferred to a digital high definition print has just received its UK HD premiere on Sky HD and the BBC recently transmitted ‘Every Day’s A Holiday’.

I was delighted to have been invited to a private viewing of this exhibition at the National Portrait Gallery that is open to the public from 15th October to 24th January 2010. A photograph of myself taken by famous photographer Dezo Hoffman is one of the150 classic items featured in the exhibition.

And finally,
As indicated in my August and September Newsletter I have recorded some new tracks for a CD project that we are working on for 2010 release and The Flames , having been recently signed to Lone Rider Records , are currently recording tracks for a ‘solo’ Flames CD again for a release in 2010.
