Hello Everybody,
Welcome to my February and March newsletter. I would like to pass on my thanks to those of you who sent me Christmas cards and gifts and hope that all of you enjoyed the Seasonal break. As many would say ‘you know it’s Christmas because you have yet another chance to view on Television ‘The Great Escape’ and ‘Von Ryan’s Express’. For those of you who have a Blu-ray DVD player ‘The Great Escape’ is scheduled for Blu-ray release during this year. It will be interesting to see if they have added some new ‘extras’ to the disc.
Whilst on the subject of films we have updated the Cinema page of the website and have added ‘stills’ from many of the films that I appeared in.
We will also be updating the TV and radio pages of the website during the next few months. Giving full details of my appearances in my American TV series ‘Jericho’, ‘Thank Your Lucky Stars’ and performances on ‘Saturday Club’.

The Windsor concert at The Theatre Royal on Sunday 15th March is the first ‘Telstar’ concert and is a Tribute to Joe Meek in that Mike Berry joins myself The Tornados , The Flames and “The Honeycombs Band” in paying tribute to the sound that Joe created. We hope to announce more dates for ‘Telstar’ during the next few weeks including a Concert in Crosby.

Also the February UK Rock magazine has published an article by Dell Richardson on one of my appearances on his ‘Good Rockin’ Tonight’ show on Radio Caroline. Dell’s show is now back on air between 6p.m and 9p.m. on a Tuesday evening. It’s always worth a listen.

50’s and 60’s singer Russ Sainty has published a book titled ‘ King Of The Cali – A lifetime in Rock ‘n’ Roll’ that can be purchased from Amazon Books or direct from Russ on Also available from Amazon is Doug Abbott’s ’50 years of the Television Western’.
Songwriter and 60’s performer Sammy King has a book in preparation. Sammy and his then group The Voltairs performed with myself and Gene Vincent on a mini tour that I did in the 60’s. Sammy went on to write some great songs including ‘Penny Arcade’ for Roy Orbision and both sides of my ‘Think We’re Talking Love Here’ single. I remember meeting Sammy and Producer Bill Jessop in 1994 at Bill’s recording studios. Both are really nice people and hopefully Sammy will include memories of this session in his forthcoming book.
