John Live!

Hello Everybody,
Let me commence by wishing each of you, your friends and family a very ‘Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.’
2008 has been a very busy year for me, not only in terms of the number of Concerts we have held but the number of press and radio interviews, rehearsal and recording studio sessions.
I could not have believed in the late 50’s and early 60’s when I commenced my acting and singing career that I would still be performing some 50 years later. I consider it a real privilege that so many of you still come to my concerts and purchase my recordings. It is always a pleasure to meet you all and hear your memories of those ‘early’ Johnny Remember Me’ days.
2009 will again see me performing in Concert, the release of a NEW CD, the release of the film ‘Telstar’ and a new Concert that we are planning entitled ‘Telstar – The Concert’. This Concert will also include my great friends ‘Clem Cattini and The Tornados’, ‘Mike Berry’ plus ‘The Flames’.

The following tracks recorded by me and produced by Joe Meek still exist on the original master tapes or on acetate.
‘Johnny Remember Me’ – the original banned version. I returned to Holloway Road to re-record ‘Johnny Remember Me’ as the BBC had banned this original version that contained the then ‘infamous died’ lyrics. How times have changed!
‘Johnny Remember Me’ – Joe’s original Stereo version that he mixed down to mono for release. ‘Wild Wind’ – Stereo version - as ‘Johnny Remember Me’.
‘Lone Rider’ – Joe attempted several versions of Lone Rider – this is a different mix to the released version.
‘Son This Is She’ – 3 stereo versions exist – in English, French and German.
‘Down The River Nile’ – 2 different versions of this track exist – complete with ‘sound effects’ and the ‘Cleo’s gone for a Burton’ lyrics.
‘Terry Brown’s In Love With Mary Dee’ – in Italian.
‘The Girl On The Floor Above’ – in Italian.
‘Heart and Soul’.
‘There Must Be’ – backing track.
‘There Must Be’ – slower version.
‘Johnny My Johnny’ – different version.
‘Aladdin’s Lamp’. ‘2 Sides of LP’ – all tracks exist in true Stereo.
The following 2 tracks also exist and are possibly different versions to those released on the ‘Remembering’ Anthology. ‘I’m Thankful’ and ‘Now and Always’.
I also recorded a version of ‘Come Outside’ but not a comedy version. To date this track has not been located. I would like to thank Alan Blackburn for kindly supplying this information.
