Hello Everybody,
February has been a very busy month with many events taking place for the 40th Anniversary of the passing of Joe Meek. BBC Radio 2 have transmitted the Holloway Dreams programmes on the life of Joe, Sanctuary Records have released their RGM Collection of CDs, both the EP CD Box Set and the ‘They Were Wrong! Joe’s Boys Vol 1’ 2 CD set are now available from the website shop.Record Collector The February edition of the Record Collector magazine featured not only a very interesting article, written by JMAS member Rob Bradford, on many of Joe’s productions, but also the Russell Newmark interview on myself.

Many special events also took place during the month including the sell-out Meek Fest concert at the Wyllyotts Theatre in Potters Bar. I should like to pass on my special thanks to those of you who came to the concert, some of you travelled a great distance to be with us, especially those from Scotland, Manchester, Preston. the South West and East Anglia. It was great to meet up with many of you again and hopefully you enjoyed our event. Also it was a great pleasure for me to meet up again with some legendary artistes from the 60’s. These included Bruce Welch of the Shadows, Cliff Bennett, Craig Douglas, Bobby Rio and of course not forgetting that great drummer Clem Cattini.

Should any of you wish to purchase any of Clive’s concert photographs please e-mail and we will discuss your requirements with Clive. Copies of this very special limited edition concert brochure are available for purchase at £5 (inc UK p/p)- Overseas £6 (inc p/p) For order details, check out the Joe Meek Appreciation Society website.

As well as recording an interview for the BBC Radio 2 Holloway Dreams series I also completed an interview for the Palmdoor Film Company of the USA. That will hopefully feature in the film about Joe that they are in the process of completing. An interview clip entitled ‘John Leyton blames Joe Meek’ can be listened to at Also I gather that on the myspace website there are other John Leyton film clips including the Harpers W1 TV clip of me singing ‘Johnny Remember Me.’
Finally I attended the opening of the Joe Meek exhibition that is running until 25th May at the Finsbury Library, 245 St.John Street, London. EC1V 4NB
Without a doubt February has certainly been ‘Joe Meek Month’
