Whilst carrying out some recent research, we came across news of an official release of 'Johnny Remember Me' on a 78 rpm single on the Top Rank International label. UK Record Companies phased out releases of 78 rpm singles during 1959 and 1960, in favour of the more popular 45 rpm single. However, 78 rpm singles continued to be released in some other markets.

With the assistance of our good friend Eric Gunn we can now confirm the release of 'Johnny Remember Me' b/w 'There Must Be' on a 78 rpm single. Eric has managed to obtain a copy of this 'rare' item and it now resides proudly in his collection of John Leyton records.

PETER WILLIAMS - CD TRIBUTE TO JOHN LEYTON. Peter is a fantastic guitarist and has recently produced his own Instrumental Tribute CD's to Elvis Presley and Billy Fury, both endorsed by the official fan clubs. He has built up a great following and is now completing a second CD Tribute to Billy for October release. Some of you may have heard Peter and his music on a recent Dell Richardson Radio Caroline programme. We at johnleytonofficial.com were so taken with Peter's unique sound that we have asked him to produce a Tribute to John. He has agreed to do this. John has endorsed this project 100% and is delighted that Peter is paying him this tribute. The downside is that the finished product cannot be completed until mid 2006, but believe me it will be worth the wait. You can order Peter's current CD's from his website
